My work means to explore the common theme that is
connectivity. I believe it is important to be aware of the many connections
within the web of life. My drawings function as totems which concentrate on
revelation and renowned connections. In this series of four drawings I discover
what I can communicate through the use of totems and the animal spirits
associated with them. I attempt to gather their meanings as well as other
symbolism. In creating these works, each of the four pieces begins as one of
the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water. These works also are themed
around our solar system—the connections between planets and each element.
